King Construction Print Campaign

Since 2018, I have designed King Construction's print advertising: a consistent, premium campaign that puts their custom barns, arenas and living quarters in front of equestrian and luxury-home audiences across Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic and Wellington, Florida.

Project Overview
King Construction has designed and built custom barns, arenas and outbuildings since 1978. Their clients are horse owners and estate owners who expect true craftsmanship, so the advertising has to feel as considered as the buildings themselves.
I design their full-page, half-page and double-truck magazine ads, plus event program ads, a business card and recruiting ads. In 2025 alone the campaign included about 48 approved pieces across Equestrian Living, The Plaid Horse, Elite Equestrian, Sidelines, East Coast Equestrian, County Lines, Wellington and Bucks County publications.
The Challenge
Every publication has its own trim size, bleed and deadline, and many run several insertions a year. Each ad needed to look unmistakably like King while giving repeat readers something new to see.
A Flexible Ad System
I built a modular layout: a hero photograph of a finished project, a row of supporting images, and a consistent signature band with the gold King crest, the line “Setting the standard since 1978,” services, phone and website. The system scales cleanly from a business card to a two-page spread.
Letting the Work Sell
The buildings are the product, so photography leads every ad. I select and sequence project photos to show their range (equestrian barns, event barns, garages and living quarters) and rotate them across insertions so the campaign stays fresh.
Storytelling for Premium Placements
For larger placements such as the Equestrian Living double truck, the layout adds the headline “Where Exceptional Craft Meets Extraordinary Living” with short brand copy, positioning a King barn as a signature piece of architecture rather than just a building.
Events and Community
The same system extends to program ads for the Kimberton Hunt Club horse show, Winterthur and Barns & BBQ, keeping King visible at the events where their clients gather.
Result
A long-running, recognizable campaign that scales to dozens of placements a year while staying consistent, premium and production-ready for every publication.
